AutoZone Charity Golf Day Hits a Hole in One for Local Causes

AutoZone’s annual Charity Golf Day is always a highlight on the calendar, and this year’s event was our most successful yet. Held at Glendower Golf Course on 15 May 2025, it was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when companies come together with a common vision to make a real difference.

The incredible success of the day was made possible thanks to the unwavering support of our suppliers and partners. From booking fourballs and sponsoring holes, to donating incredible prizes for the raffle, their generosity and enthusiasm helped push the fundraising total to new heights.

A heartfelt thank you to each of our partners for their invaluable contributions to our numerous raffles, which included:

  • 4 Tickets to the Extreme Festival at Zwartkops Raceway courtesy of ATE VW Challenge
  • A Cleveland 60° Wedge and Holts Travel Buddy courtesy of GUD Holdings

Special thanks to our suppliers who so generously donated prizes for the top golfers – Apex Superior Parts, Auto Cosmos, Castrol, Electrolog, Extra Tech, First Battery, GUD, Hella, Osram, Ovations, Robert Bosch, Shield, Shell and Starter Motor Suppliers, as well as to our import Partners – Auto Ignition, Garima and Kimco for their invaluable contributions.

The evening’s charity auction brought an exciting close to the event, with attendees bidding for exclusive collectors’ football and motorsport memorabilia, as well as local holiday getaways.

AutoZone CEO, Dion de Graaff, said “We are absolutely thrilled with the turnout and the generosity shown at this year’s Golf Day. The level of support from our suppliers was simply outstanding, and it’s their commitment that made this event such a tremendous success. We’re honoured to partner with such passionate and community-driven businesses, and we look forward to continuing to make a difference together.”

The majority of the funds raised from the 2025 Golf Day will go towards assisting two exceptional organisations.

Lions BrightSight provides corrective eyewear to underprivileged individuals across South Africa and neighbouring countries, helping to restore vision and create opportunities for those who would otherwise struggle to access basic eye care.

The Ebenezer Psychiatric Home offers long-term care to adults living with severe psychiatric conditions, supporting them with holistic therapy, creative workshops, and vocational training to help them re-enter the workplace when they feel ready to do so.

AutoZone extends its sincere thanks to every supplier, sponsor, and participant who helped make this year’s event one to remember. Your support isn’t just appreciated – it’s life-changing.
