1. Brake Pads

Your brake pads need to be replaced between every 60 000km to 80 00km. This may depend on how hard each driver brakes, which is why you still need to check them ever 15 000km.

1. Oil

With modern day lubricants, you should be changing your oils between 8 000 to 12 000km. However, if your car’s engine requires full-synthetic motor oil, you may only need to change it every 24 000km.

1. Spark Plugs

It’s always a good idea to change your spark plugs after 48 000 km. However, if your check engine light comes on, your car has trouble starting or you are filling up your fuel tank more often – this could be a result of failing spark plugs.

1. Oil, Air and Fuel Filters

You really should be replacing your oil filters every time you carry out an oil change. Typically, that means every 10,000km for a petrol car, or every 15,000km for a diesel vehicle

When it comes to your cabin air filters, you can only change these once a year, however, it is also a good idea to change it between seasons as it does tend to collect pollen and dust during the change in season.

Your engine air filter should be changed every 19 000 to 24 000 km, depending on your vehicle, how often you drive and the different climates in which you drive in.

Finally, a fuel filter should only need changing every 35 000 km or once every two years
