2026 Simola Hillclimb Delivers Record Performances
The 16th edition of the Simola Hillclimb once again proved why it stands out as South Africa’s premier motoring and motorsport lifestyle event. Held in Knysna from 30 April to 3 May 2026, the event attracted more than 20,000 live spectators, who were treated to a weekend of world-class competition, perfect weather, and an electric atmosphere.
From Classic Car Friday through to the final King of the Hill shootouts, the 2026 event delivered exceptional performances across every category.
Classic Car Friday Winner:
Classic Conqueror:
Ian Schofield took top honours in his March 77B Formula Atlantic, claiming his second Classic Car Friday victory with a time of 40.881 seconds.
King of the Hill Champions:
Modified Saloon Cars:
Pieter Zeelie secured back-to-back victories and his third overall win in the Toyota MR2 with a time of 37.216 seconds.
Single Seaters, Sports Cars and Prototypes:
Robert Wolk secured his second title with a 25.024 second run in the Gould GR55.
Road Cars and Supercars:
Clinton Weston took a second consecutive title and set a new class record of 42.527 seconds in the Mercedes AMG GT 63 E Performance.
